With a nationwide database of 4,000+ fully vetted, English-speaking families, we place students in safe, welcoming homes near partner schools, colleges, and universities. Each family is screened, trained, and supported, backed by a network of 50+ regional coordinators across 30+ states. Since 2014, we’ve placed over 5,000 students, providing full guardianship, due diligence, and liability management. Hosts receive orientation, guidance, and 24/7 support, while our team manages oversight, conflict resolution, and communication with families, students, and schools. We value hosts not only as caregivers but also as cultural ambassadors, helping students thrive and build lasting cross-cultural connections. Our high school homestays emphasize safety and structure. Certified hosts provide daily care, while a local homestay manager checks in monthly. Students receive a private bedroom with study space, meals, daily school transportation, and support for special needs or extracurriculars.
College & University Students
Older students enjoy greater flexibility and independence. Options vary by city but include tiered meal plans, locations near campus, and concierge transportation. Fees depend on chosen services, allowing students to design the living arrangement that fits their academic and personal lifestyle.

All our homestays focus on safety and support. In addition to hosts who have been specially certified to care for high school students, students are assigned to a local homestay manager who can check in with them monthly by arrangement. High School Homestays include private bedrooms with study space, private or shared bathrooms, three meals a day, and daily transportation to and from school. Additional services are also available for special needs and extracurricular activities.

College Students enjoy slightly different services depending on the city, but all locations offer considerable flexibility through tiered options. A student can, for example, choose from several meal plans, ask for a location close to the college, and/or sign up for our concierge transportation service. ESL Schools across America have partnered with ED Homestay to provide international students with a trusted and reliable home or apartment complex while they pursue their studies. We offer short-term study tour groups the same expertise and best practices of homestay accommodation as our longer-term placements. International tour groups receive all the advantages of our homestays, from our emphasis on safety and support to the cultural benefits of living with a local. We work with educational agents and tour organizers to adapt each homestay package to the type, size, and duration of the tour.
